In 1986, Underbool still retained its station building and platform. The station itself was unique in Victoria, with the jumbled style of the wooden structure, yet being capped with a fancy Queen Anne tiled roof. By 1989, the platform and main station building had gone, leaving only the gangers hut and the toilet sheds. Today, only the gangers hut and a goods shed remain, with the obligatory silos. I was employed at Underbool in the mid 1960’s for a number of years. The station was unique in that in earlier days it had served refreshments and still had the cellar under the station office.
