Nar Nar Goon

We don’t too often enter into editorial or opinion on this site, however it cannot be helped but to make an observation that Nar Nar Goon is up there with the best ever name for a town (or a station). For our international visitors, the name is apparently derived from the local native term for the Koala.

These days, Nar Nar Goon is another casualty of the demolition team, but it was barely standing in 1987 anyway. Line diagrams and station history can be found at Andrew Waugh’s VR History site, while Ross Thomspon has some recent images at Vicrailstations. Vicsig as always is another source of interesting info and history.
