Maroona is a junction station on what is now the main western standard gauge line from Ararat to either Melbourne or Portland. Our photos are from 1989 before the lines were converted to Standard Gauge. As can be seen from more recent views at vicrailstaions, the semaphores have now gone and the junction has been reconfigured by giving priority to the Gheringhap line.
