Burrumbeet Station was opened in August 1874. There was also a racecourse platform for special trains servicing the nearby Burrumbeet Racecourse, and in 1904, a dedicated branch line and station were opened at the venue. Both were closed in 1948.
The original Burrumbeet Station was a brick building with separate signal box. This was replaced in 1965 by the structure below. The station was closed to passengers in 1972, while the total closure occurred in December 1987, with removal of signalling and points and safeworking facilities.
