A significant location at one stage, sporting a set of trainmens quarters, turntable, locomotive watering facilities and perway sheds. The railway arrived about the same time as the town was established, with timber and cattle being the main commodity shipped from this location.
The station celebrated its centenary on 21 November 2010. Mark Linnet kindly sent though a photo of that event, which has been placed in the Gallery.
Kate Dohle has kindly contributed some photos, including the station as it stands today, and a couple taken of the (unknown) Station Master in 1928.

Hi,
Linville Station on the Brisbane Valley Line is about to celebrate it’s Centenary. Now on the Brisbane Valley Railtrail. I have some recent Photos, also some very old photos. I may also have a Photo of the Moore Station {the whole Station } I think the Moore Station Closed in 1969. The Theebine – Kingaroy line did go all the way to Nanango, I think the Nanango Station closed in the early 1960’s. I may be able to wangle a Photo for that also!
Kind Regards
Kate
Hi Kate,
Thanks for the info and would be great if you could wrangle those photos. Yes, the line once went to Nanango, and it was even approved for it to be connected to the Brisbane Valley Branch, but of course it never happened. I have an ambition to ride the BVRT some day soon, just need to find the time to do it!
If you want to get photos to us, you can email them via the link on this page, or upload them to the contribute page. Cheers!
