The station still standing on the down platform is the original, though modified, building from the opening of the main south line. The signal box is still attached on the southern side, with the interlocking frame within. However, all the brass plates that were attached to the levers have long gone. Once manned around the clock with up and down loops, today only a siding survives on the down side for ballast loading, otherwise the station is empty of life except for the odd passenger for the trains a few times a day that stop, and the “rubber train”, or bus, from Goulburn.
