Cooma Station is fully restored and used as the base for operations of the heritage Cooma Monaro Railway. Cooma Originally opened in 1887, with the line extending further south to Bombala in 1921. The line beyond Cooma saw no traffic from 1986, with Cooma itself closing in 1989.
After Station and Rollingstock restoration, the Cooma Monaro Railway commenced operations on 5 December 1998.
We only have a couple of images of Cooma, but the CMR History page is well worth a visit to see how significant this location once was. There is also a decent collection of images over at nswrail.net
