Ballarat East

.
When the photos in our gallery were taken only the up platform remained, and it is very hard to find any pictures of those classic buildings in colour. Someone must have them somewhere, it was one of the largest of the “black” bluestone buildings, next to Kyneton. It was a classic complex, especially with the massive stone loco sheds that were once nearby. Certainly I remember  travelling through this station when it was intact on the Dimboola Pass, but the trains never stopped there, not that I had a camera, or the foresight to photograph it at the time.

There are some recent images of Ballarat East at the Rail Geelong website, and some history and images at Vicsig
