Bowning

Bowning is now closed to all traffic these days, and thankfully most of the buildings have survived. The station opened in 1876 and consisted of the main down station office and residence, and on the up a smaller timber structure. The down building was very similar, but smaller, to that of Yass Junction. There were two island platforms with up and down loops either side.  The down building survives in reasonable condition and is used as a private residence, however the signal box to the north of it has been demolished, and the cared for look of the general area with it. The up building survives, slowly decaying, and the stairway to the road for passenger access has been removed at the southern end of the platform.
