Cranbourne is the current terminus on the South Gippsland (or Woodside) line. In 1995, the line was electrified for suburban electric trains. All other traffic beyond Cranbourne ceased when the sand train from Koala was discontinued in 1998. In 2008 stabling roads were built at this location.
