Longwarry

Longwarry is a single platform station at the down end of a single line section from Bunyip. Goods sidings were still in existence when our photos were taken in 1987.

There are some more recent (pre RFR upgrade) images that provide interesting comparison at Vicrailstations, while over at Vicsig there is some current location information.

There were 14 double wire frames in Victoria – I can think of 7 on the Gippsland line – Berwick, Officer, Pakenham, Nar Nar Goon, Tynong, Bunyip and Longwarry, also at Mount Waverley, Glen Iris, Lethbridge, Meredith, Elaine, Lal Lal and Eaglehawk. I’ll let you decide whether that makes them quite unusual or not. There were also a number of places where there were a number of double wire levers amongst the regular levers – Redcliffs, Wodonga Coal Sidings and Moe to name but three.
