Mill Hill

The station at Mill Hill are the remains of what was once a much bigger structure. The location can be likened to a kind of suburban station to the north of Warwick. You can get an idea of the changes made at this thanks to Bob Wilson, who has allowed us to use one of his images from 1965.

Peter Burkit has also kindly provided  the following history:

The site of Mill Hill was the original terminus of the line to Warwick when it first opened from Gowrie Junction in 1871.
The line was extended to Cherry Gully nine years later in 1880
Renamed Mill Hill in 1888 when the stopping place at East Warwick (in the location of the current Warwick station) was renamed Warwick as the town’s main station.

The state library of Queensland has an image from ca 1875 of the station, and it has been copied to our gallery and credited in accordance with their publishing guidelines.
